Autumn by Wendy White
Autumn by Wendy White

Ink, Oil and Acrylic on Hardboard. I was inspired to paint this beautiful autumn wood after a day out gathering chestnuts with my husband in Hampshire where I live. My parents took me as a child, I took my children and chestnut hunting is one of my favourite activities in the autumn. Kicking through the crispy piles of leaves, the feel of the autumn sun and breaking open the nut cases not knowing quite what I might find. Then cooking them but always freezing some to add to the stir fry sprouts and onions for Christmas Dinner. I can taste them just talking about it. My parents own 'Autumn' which I consider to be one of my favourite paintings.
